The Mission

EEG Gemeinschaftenergie is an initiative of the USW Eggenburg region in Lower Austria, which sees itself as a pioneer in the regional energy transition. The aim of the energy community is to use locally generated renewable energy locally – for greater independence, lower energy costs, and a sustainable future. The focus is on the idea of community: citizens, companies, and public institutions are joining forces to benefit together from the energy transition. Our task was to develop a holistic brand world that brings this forward-looking approach to life visually and communicatively. In addition to branding – including logo, color and image world, icons, and typography – we designed an advertising flyer and an informative website to effectively present the EEG to the outside world and attract new members.

The Process

It all began with an in-depth examination of EEG’s values and target groups. The focus was on sustainability, regionality, responsibility, community, and independence—complemented by a spirit of innovation, transparency, and professionalism. These values were translated visually and form the basis of the new brand identity. The central logo symbolizes the power of the sun and the idea of community: four abstract figures—two adults and two children—together form a rising sun. The upward-pointing rays represent cohesion, energy, and regional development.

Based on this, a visual identity was created that deliberately avoids classic shades of green. Instead, a combination of yellow (sun, warmth) and blue (trust, clarity) conveys the brand values in a modern way. The look is complemented by clear typography, authentic imagery, and a set of concise icons. These design elements were used specifically in the advertising flyer and on the website. Both formats were developed to make even complex content such as tariff models or network areas easy to understand – supported by infographics, animated elements, and interactive tools such as a network coverage map.

The Result

With its new brand identity, EEG Gemeinschaftenergie presents itself as a modern, transparent, and committed initiative that aims to actively shape the regional energy transition. The advertising flyer concisely conveys the advantages of membership and invites people to participate. The website impresses with its user-friendly structure, clear language, and animated and interactive graphics. The visual identity succeeds in making technological content tangible and strengthening the emotional power of the community spirit. In this way, EEG not only wins the trust of the population, but also actively contributes to the expansion of renewable energies and regional value creation.
