Street Poets

Street Poets is a Los Angeles-based non-profit organization that promotes creative self-development, community and social change. With programs centered around poetry, music, film and nature, Street Poets promotes the voices of young people and creates spaces for healing, empowerment and transformation. Our task was to provide this multi-faceted initiative with a consistent, modern brand strategy and a comprehensive brand design. The goal was to develop a visual brand world alongside the existing logo that reflects the essence of Street Poets and gives the different programs individual identities – without losing sight of the commonality.
At the beginning, the focus was on a deep understanding of the organization. Together with the team from Los Angeles, we worked out the central brand essence, which is a combination of creative strength, warm community and authentic heritage. On this basis, we developed a visual concept that makes these values tangible. At the heart of this is the development of distinct program logos for Street Poets’ seven offerings – from SP Presents to Seeking Peace to the Urban Oasis Film Academy. Each program was assigned a natural element – such as fire, water, earth or air – that visually supports its content message.
The brand world also includes a dynamic set of typography, color palette and imagery. Striking contrasts such as handwritten elements, raw textures and graphic patterns combine authenticity with modern urbanity. A specially developed brand guide ensures consistency across all channels – from social media to print products and merchandising.
Street Poets’ new brand design creates a powerful visual foundation for the further development of the organization. The program logos unite diversity and community in an appealing way – each individual, all clearly associated with the Street Poets family. The imagery, inspired by the energy of young voices and the aesthetics of LA street and graffiti art, is both approachable and powerful. The new brand world is already being used successively – on social media, in print materials and in the revision of the website, which we were commissioned with. By designing and implementing the visual identity, Street Poets not only becomes visible, but also continues to be a driving force for social change as a platform for creativity, healing and empowerment.
